Amy was born on a snowy Christmas night and then grew up in a religious cult until the age of 10. So when the camera light goes on or she enters stage left, you can be sure there is a really *average* story to tell. Or a dance to interpret. Or cult song to sing. Or maybe some fun-colored punch to drink.
She graduated from the Ritz Carlton aka Pepperdine University with a degree in television production and continued to work in Los Angeles at this place called TV Guide Network. No, not the magazine...they have a channel too that you never knew about! During her stay in LA-LA Land she worked on various T.V. and award shows, nervously interviewing Jon Hamm for the first time and herding celebrity cats on the red carpet. She also studied acting, did lots of video blogging, and performed in various improv groups--like that one famous one--ya know, on that one network. She also competed for the title of Miss California USA in 2009 and found out she couldn't actually win anything because she was too short.
After six years of being in LA, she packed her bags and returned home to the Bay Area, embarking on a journey to nourish her broken LA soul. So of course, like all the "struggling spiritual" actors do, she became a yoga teacher (see more here) in 2011 and has taught all over the Bay Area while also staying busy booking a variety of commercials--like that one famous one, during that one Superbowl.
Amy then lived the slow life in Portland, Oregon for 5 months continuing to deepen her quest towards being a multi-platform influencer, transformational artist, and Portlandia extra. Amy's acting and performance skill set has been used daily while teaching Yoga, but what the practice has really given her is the opportunity to step into the world confidently, embrace all the parts of herself, and release non-supportive patterns and beliefs (I want to thank Deepak Chopra, Brene Brown, Elizabeth Gilbert and Pema Chodron...and the Academy). She notions that life is about being vulnerable, as it lends itself to profound acceptance and evolution.
Amy seeks her personal truth with an inquisitive, magnetic, bright, and sometimes messy heart. She's grateful to be grounding into her expressive roots and producing/experimenting with new content on the daily. She is creating a path filled with originality, glee, unconventionality and soul. She is thrilled to inspire people into their own emotional depth, the richness of their truth, and vows to continually spread the three best things on the planet: love, joy and laughter! Oh two more...sunshine dust and happiness sprinkles!! *rolls eyes and slaps forehead*
